A 17 year old was raped in Headington, Oxford last week.
Shortly before 9pm last Tuesday 21st May, the girl was approached by a man in the alleyway that runs between Waitrose and Bury Knowle Park.
He assaulted her, before leaving the area.
It is believed the offender was known to the victim.
The offender was white with fair hair and was wearing a purple cap and red hooded top.
He was white, in his mid-forties, with stubble and he was wearing a green waterproof jacket.
A 19 year old man has been arrested and bailed.
Investigating officer Det Con Matthew Hodgetts said: 'We are looking to speak to the man who walked past the young man and woman in Bury Knowle Park.
'We would like to speak to him urgently, as we believe he is an important witness.
'A man has been arrested and at the moment, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.'
