Wokingham: Schools Decision Update
19 December 2012, 11:47 | Updated: 19 December 2012, 12:00
Three new schools will be built in Wokingham by September 2013 as part of multi-million plans to create an extra 150 places.
The sites at Winnersh, Woosehill and Charvil will be new school buildings but will be run by exsiting schools.
These areas are among the most in need of school places for 2013/2014 after a rise in birth rates and new homes planned.
1500 people have taken part in the consultation over the last 6 months. The plans for next September are costing just over £8 million with more school places needed in the following few years.
There have been concerns about extra traffic and the loss of green spaces.
The council hopes by January 15 to have confirmed providers for the school places.
