Man Charged After Abingdon Dogwalker Stabbing

An 18-year-old man's been charged after a dogwalker was stabbed at random in Abingdon.

She's recovering after being knifed in the stomach near Clifton Drive earlier this month.

Oliver Welsby, of no fixed address, is due in court accused of one count of Grievous Bodily Harm Section 18 wounding with intent.

It is in connection with an incident which happened at around 10.30am on Thursday 19 July, in which a woman in her fifties was stabbed in woodland near Clifton Drive.

Welsby was arrested on Saturday and charged today, and will appear at Oxford Magistrate’s Court later.
