Tributes to young women killed in New Year crash

Tributes are being paid to two young women who were killed in a car crash in Gwynedd on New Years Day.

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident which happened n the village of Llanrug around 6.00am on Sunday January 1.

The silver Vauxhall Corsa was travelling on the Llanberis to Caernarfon road when it collided with a wall near the Glyn Twrog pub in the village.

19 year old Sasha Danielle Jarvis was from Llanberis and 21 year old Sian Gwenllian Lloyd Davies from Pentir died at the scene.

Sasha's family said:

'Sasha Danielle Jarvis was the loving daughter to Menai and Neil, step daughter to Barry, fond sister to Sophie, Sarah and her partner Ian and special aunty to Ceian Morgan. Also sadly missed by step-brother Stephen.

'She was a previous pupil in Ysgol Brynrefail and was currently employed as a Classroom Assistant at Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug where she continued to progress her education. She adored all the children.

'Sasha is best described as being fun loving and warm person who loved her family and numerous friends. A popular character in Llanber, she also worked in a care Home in the village and was well thought of by both guests and fellow staff alike.

'Sasha will be missed dearly by all her family and friends following this sudden and most tragic incident. She will never be forgotten.'

Sian's family said:

'Sian Gwenllian was a beautiful, happy, loving and outgoing young woman. She was the loving daughter of Robin and Jen and cherished sister of Olwen, Bethan, Tomos and the late Catrin.

Sian touched the lives of many people, young and old, with her generosity of spirit and zest for life. She led a short life but lived it with a huge smile on her face. She was the apple of her family's eye and her loss will leave a huge void that can never be replaced. '

Sian's mother said:

'No parent should have to bury their child before them. It is so unfair that Sian is now the second child we have lost. In 1995 we lost our beautiful daughter Catrin who was aged just 19 months. I'm so grateful of the strong support given by my wonderful family. We will just have to support each other in whatever way we can.

'As a family our thoughts and condolences are also with the family of Sasha. We met her mother yesterday and spent some time together talking about the happy times our daughters had in their short lives. The family summaries by saying what an honour and a pleasure it has been to share her beautiful life. Cysga'n dawel Siani bach.'
