Police are appealing for information following two separate attacks on sheep at the same location in recent weeks.
The first incident happened overnight on Saturday January 15th and Sunday January 16th on land at Lynsters Farm, West Hyde, Rickmansworth.
Two lambs were found by the farmer on the Sunday morning and both had suffered serious injuries, believed to have been caused by a dog.
The second incident occurred between Monday evening ( January 31st) and Tuesday morning ( February 1st) when two lambs were badly attacked and the rest of the flock were disturbed.
Inspector George Holland, neighbourhood inspector said: “This type of incident is extremely distressing for the farmers and livestock involved. I expect all responsible dog owners to keep their dogs on leads when around livestock and I would request anyone who may have information about this incident to get in touch with police as soon as possible on 0845 33 00 222 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In order that we can bring the irresponsible dog owner to justice for the offences committed.”
