Woman Assaulted Whilst Running In Hatfield

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Hatfield on Sunday, May 15.
At around 5pm the victim, a 20 year old woman, was out running. As she ran down to the underpass off Woods Avenue, on the approach to Asda, she noticed a man standing at the entrance of the underpass.
As she passed the man he pushed her in the back, causing her to hit her face against the wall. He then tried to grab her but she kicked out at him and managed to run away.
The victim suffered a graze across her face.
The offender is described as a black man who was approximately 5ft 10ins tall and aged in his early to mid 20s. He was wearing a grey hooded top, blue denim jeans and a baseball cap which has been described as tall and colourful.
PC Tom Fisher is investigating and said: “I am appealing to anyone who has any information about what happened to contact police. If you were in the area at the time and saw or heard anything suspicious please contact me.
“If you believe you saw the man in the area around the time of the incident I would also like to hear from you.”
