An 11 day old baby has died after a crash on the M6 in Staffordshire.
The boy, who has not yet been named, died in hospital on Monday, Staffordshire Police said.
His mother and two more of her children, a girl aged four and an 18 month old boy, were also taken to hospital following the crash on Sunday but were later discharged with minor injuries.
The crash happened on the southbound carriageway of the M6 between the two slip roads for Hilton Services near Cannock and involved a grey Seat Leon and a silver Mercedes C- Class.
All those involved are from the West Midlands area, a Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said.
The mother and her three children were travelling in a grey Seat Leon which was in collision with a silver Mercedes C-class carrying a woman and two men.
One of the men and the woman from the second car were taken to hospital as a precaution, but later discharged.
Officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, which happened at around 4.25pm on Sunday.
A 30-year-old man from the Solihull area has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101.
