A delivery driver who sexually assaulted a vulnerable woman in Birmingham has been jailed.
24-year-old Wasim Bhar, from Castle Bromwich, sexually abused a 52-year-old woman after delivering a parcel to her home on Thursday 7th January.
He'll serve 4 years behind bars and also be on the sex offenders register for life.
Detective Constable Katy Roberts, from the force’s Public Protection Unit, said: "I want to reassure the public that these types of sexual crimes are thankfully very rare.
"The fact that Bhar had gained the victim’s trust and used his role as a delivery driver to gain access to her house was very concerning and the crime was treated as very serious. The attack was clearly premeditated and was extremely callous.
"The courage that the victim showed in coming forward was considerable; she had a number of reservations about providing evidence, but with the help of specially trained officers, she was able to tell her story whilst being fully supported.
"This evidence was vitally important and her bravery led to this dangerous individual being arrested. We would like to reassure any victims of sexual violence that they will always be listened to and support is available to them."
