There are fresh worries Birmingham could miss out on business, jobs and investment if Gatwick Airport gets expanded.
Heart's been told been told £20 million will be put into increasing regional flights if the government agrees a second runway there.
However, bosses haven't said if flights would go from Birmingham to London.
John Lamb is from Birmingham's Chamber of Commerce, and thinks jobs and businesses here would have a better chance of growing if Gatwick's expanded, but only if Birmingham was to benefit.
He said: "We don't know the details, we don't know what they're thinking of and we don't know if they'll include Birmingham in their plans because we're so close to Birmingham anyway.
"There's so much spare capacity at Birmingham - I think we'd be happy to work with whatever came up to make travel to Birmingham more convenient."
Stewart Wingate, Gatwick CEO, said: “Gatwick has always been serious about encouraging the growth and development of a strong network of competing airports around the UK. This fund – and the measures we propose to support it – will improve connectivity to London for those that need it.
