Chickenpox parties

One in three mums and dads in the West Midlands would knowingly send thier kids to a party where another child had Chickenpox.

A recent survey also found that more than half of under five year olds in our region still haven't caught the highly infectious disease which is mild when your young - but can be more serious as an adult.

It affects around 600,000 children every year and is most common around this time of year, with outbreaks already reported in nurseries and schools across the region. 90% of children catch chickenpox before their teens and it most commonly affects children under four.
