A Coventry woman has been jailed for 14 weeks after using a wheelchair to pretend she was disabled in order to shoplift food items.
Leoni Clare, 28, of Masser Road, Holbrooks, was caught on CCTV in a Marks and Spencer food hall store at a service station in Finham in January.
The footage shows her and an accomplice in a wheelchair browsing the shelves before concealing items in a rucksack.
She is then also seen getting out of the chair unaided and putting further items in her coat.
West Midlands Police put the footage on social media and Clare was identified, though officers are still looking for her accomplice.
Investigating officer PC Michael Harkin said: "Clare is a prolific shoplifter and this offence was particularly distasteful. I hope the custodial sentence will give her time to contemplate the seriousness of what she has done."
Clare pleaded guilty at Coventry Magistrates Court on Friday 20 February along with a further charge of shoplifting at a pharmacy in Jubilee Crescent.
Anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV footage should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
