Group Charged Over Alleged Telford "Murder Plot"

Seven people from Telford have been charged with conspiracy to murder a teenager.

West Mercia Police said five men, a 16-year-old boy and a woman in her mid-20s are also facing charges of conspiracy to sexually assault and false imprisonment.

It's after an incident in Willowfield in the Woodside area of Telford which police believe happened sometime between 27th August and 1st September. It was on the 1st September that a report was made to police.

The adults charged by police are Stephanie Titley, 25, of Willowfield, Telford; Gavin Smith, 19, of Southgate, Sutton Hill, Telford; Luke Mansell, 23, of Southgate, Sutton Hill, Telford; Nathan Bates, 19, of Villa Court, Madeley, Telford; Dean Butler, 23, of no fixed address; and Daniel Doyle, 24, of Smallwood, Sutton Hill, Telford.

A 16-year-old boy, from Sutton Hill, will appear before magistrates in Telford alongside the other defendants today (Monday 5th).

Three other people - a 20 year old woman and two teenagers aged 13 and 16 - who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and bailed until September as police investigate further.

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Detective Inspector Billy Scott said: "We are continuing to investigate the incident and believe that there may still be people with information that have not yet come forward. I would urge these people to contact us straightaway.''
