A 28 year old has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was shot in the shoulder.

A mechanic has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Solihull before Christmas.

Martynas Okmanas, 28, of Studfall Avenue in Corby, Northamptonshire, was charged in connection with the shooting of a 51-year-old woman in Solihull, West Midlands Police said.

Officers were called to a house in Dovehouse Lane on the morning of December 18, where the woman had been shot in the shoulder and hand.

Police said the incident was treated as a targeted attack and, following extensive inquiries, Okmanas was arrested on Friday and charged with attempted murder.

The 28-year-old mechanic was remanded in custody.
