The West Midlands saw a rise in child sexual abuse reports of more than a third over the last year.

The figures published by the NSPCC show more than 3,200 people contacted officers to report abuse across the region.

That's up from 1,000 the year before.

The charity says it's a problem which isn't going away.

Nationally, there's also been a big rise in the number of sexual offences against children being reported to police.

Cases were up by a third across England and Wales in the year to last April - to an average of 85 a day.
