Drivers were stuck on the motorway near Staffordshire for almost 12 hours overnight after reports of a body found on the road.
Warwickshire Police tweeted to say there had been reports at around 5.30pm on Wednesday night. The road was immediately closed between junction 10 for Tamworth and 9 for Curdworth.

At approximately 5:20pm we received a report that a body was in the road.
There is currently a road closure in place. We respect that this is rush hour, but please avoid the area.
Several people took to Twitter saying they were still at a standstill in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Northbound reopened at around 4.00am with southbound opening again a couple of hours later.
