A taxi driver from Warwickshire has been jailed for four years for sexually assaulting a woman he was driving home after a night out.
The lone woman had been travelling home in the cab driven by Dilruba Ramzan, 41, of Lillington, Leamington Spa, after a night out in the town on January 17.
He was found guilty following a sexual assault trial at Warwick Crown Court, where he was sentenced Tuesday 9th June 2015.
Detective Constable Ben Davis told Heart: "Ramzan was aware of what he was doing that night and planned to commit this offence against a lone woman while in a position of trust as a taxi driver. "
"Ramzan posed a risk of causing harm to other women by committing offences of a sexual nature within our community. His sentence sends a clear message to others considering preying on women and shows that that Warwickshire Police and the Courts will deal with them in a swift and robust manner. "
"Police take these incidents very seriously, and urged any potential victims to come forward."
