Devizes: Driver Found With Head Injuries

13 January 2014, 13:21

A man has been found in his car with nasty head injuries in Devizes.

Police were originally called at 2:40pm on Saturday 4th January to reports of an injured man who was parked in Spital Croft Road.

When officers attended the man, in his fifties from Devizes, was found with a 2-3” gash to the back of his head. An ambulance was called and he was taken to the GWH in Swindon for treatment where he remained overnight.

It is believed the man had been assaulted and that the original incident took place in Dowse Road shortly before police were called. Officers also believe the suspect may have been driving a red Volkswagen Golf.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information about this incident, in particular anyone who may have seen an altercation or argument between two men in Dowse Road around 2:30pm or anyone who saw a red Volkswagen Golf in the area at that time.

People are asked to contact PC Fiona Cuthbert at Melksham CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
