A 17 year old has serious leg injuries after he was hit by a car in Swindon. Police say they believe he was walking on the pavement when it happened in the early hours of Monday (5th January).
The incident happened at around 00:45hrs when a Red Vauxhall Vectra was travelling north on the A4311 (Cricklade Road) in the general direction of the A419.
Police say a 17 year old believed to have been walking on the pavement also heading north on the Cricklade Road.
The Vectra is believed to have hit a street lamp before colliding with the pedestrian and coming to rest in the middle of the road.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw that happen or saw the Vectra before the incident.
The pedestrian was taken to Great Western Hospital and has serious injuries to his legs.
The driver of the Vectra, a man aged 32, suffered some minor injuries and was also taken to GWH.
