Woman Seriously Hurt In Crash

Police are calling on witnesses to a serious road traffic collision near Chippenham to come forward.

At approximately 4.13pm on Tuesday 24th March 2015, a collision involving two vehicles occurred on the A420 at Lanhill.

A blue Land Rover Discovery was travelling towards Chippenham when it collided with a green Honda Jazz.

The three occupants of the Land Rover Discovery were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The 79-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the Honda Jazz suffered life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. She was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

A section of the A420 was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to contact them immediately.
