Another supermarket for Moreton?

After Aldi were given the green light for a store in Moreton last month, Tesco are now looking to build a new store in the town.

Tesco own the land which The Plough Inn is currently on, they have submitted a planning application to demolish the pub and replace it with a small "express" store.

Members of the public can now comment on the plans to the council during a period of consultation.  You can find more out on the planning website.

If it is given the go ahead it will mean three Tesco stores on the same two mile stretch of road between the Millhouse Estate and Bidston.
