Emergency landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport

An easyjet plane has had to make an emergency landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport shortly after taking off.

An Easyjet flight to Belfast from Liverpool took off at 6.52. Twenty minutes later the pilot turned the plane around to make an emergency landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The plane landed safely at 7.25 this morning (Thursday 9th June) and all passengers on board were unhurt.

It's thought the plane had a mechanical fault and the emergency landing was a precautionary measure.
