Has Liverpool got the X-Factor?

The judges have been in the city to see if we've got any talent

During the past two days Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa and Louis Walsh have all been at the Echo Arena Liverpool to pick the next star of the show.

With the musical history of the city, what did the judges make of our contestants?

Frodsham born Gary Barlow said:  "It's close to home for me here.

"It's been so funny watching Kelly getting used to the scouse wit and there's been a lot of it!

"Liverpool has been the best place and the talent has been great."

Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland:  "Liverpool is so talented. People here are more prepared, their song choices have been better and we saw a girl group today who were great which is very exciting...but when it's bad, it's bad!"

Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubs celebrated a big day in the city:  "It's amazing in Liverpool! I couldn't have had my birthday anywhere better!"

The longest serving judge Louis Walsh has been shocked by the talent: "Why didn't we come here before?

"There's a great musical tradition here.

"The people are friendly and they're a lot of good Irish people in Liverpool!"

It's not just the judges though, presenter Dermot O'Leary has really fallen for Merseyside:  "Liverpool has been my favourite city, I feel so at home here. I love it!

"The people have been fab, so welcoming, they are the heart and soul....but I still support Arsenal."

X-Factor runner up and now one of the presenters of the Xtra-Factor Ollie Murs said: "The talent is amazing here in Liverpool....and so diverse...we've seen incredible female solo singers, male solo singers, duets and groups."
