Free school bus axed in part of Wrexham
Parents will have to start paying for school transport for their children in one part of Wrexham - even though it's always been free before.
From 2012 Wrexham Council have decided to only offer free bus travel to a child's nearest suitable school.
For some parents in Chirk it means they will have to pay to get their children to Ysgol Dinas Bran in Llangollen - the village's traditional feeder school - because the nearest suitable secondary is Ysgol Rhiwabon.
By 2012 the council will no longer fund travel into neighbouring counties.
A spokesman for Wrexham Council confirmed decisions will be made in the Autumn on bus services from Chirk to Llangollen and how much it will cost pupils.
