Theatre feasibility underway in Chester

A feasibility study looking into building a state of the art theatre in Chester gets underway on Monday.

The four month consultation will look at all aspects from transport infrastructure and the economic impact a theatre would bring.

It will explore the areas where a theatre could be built and how it would appear.

Chester Performs director Andrew Bentley wants a venue in the city to stand out.

He said:

"That would mean people will want to visit from a long way away and the theatre would get a lot of national press.

"It means they can be noticed internationally and all these things enhance the place where it's based.

"It makes the area a more attractive place to live."
