Trouble free World Cup in Wrexham

Police in Wrexham say there'll be more bobbies on the beat during big World Cup games and they're working with pubs to make sure people drink responsibly.

Licensees, bar and door staff are among a range of agencies who have joined forces to support Wrexham Community Safety Partnerships “ Show Violent Crime the Red Card campaign” The campaign will run across the County Borough during the World Cup tournament period.

The main aim of the campaign is to ensure that pubs and clubs showing world cup matches are kept safe and that everyone watching the World Cup in bars and pubs across the Borough can do so in safety and comfort.

Town Inspector Alex Goss says:

'We don't want to spoil anyone's fun but there is an element to making sure people drink responsibly.'
