Police here are going to tell us who they've locked up and for how long.
A new section of the Avon and Somerset force website has been launched. It has details of certain criminals sentences.
The idea is to let the public know that people are being punished for their crimes.
Chief Superintendent John Stratford says there can be a long period of time between the arrest and the conviction: "We need to wait until the case has been concluded before we can bring the full facts to the public. That can leave people with the impression that a lot of crime is being committed but we're not very successful at prosecuting very often. It's important that people see justice has been done."
