A14: One Dead And Two Injured In Alconbury Crash

A man has died and two people have been injured in a crash on the A14 in Cambridgeshire.

Emergency services were called to a collision between a lorry and a van at Alconbury at 8:35am today.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance, two paramedic officers and a land crew from Magpas.

A spokesperson for Ambulance Service said: "One casualty was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and our thoughts are with all those affected by this incident.

Two patients suffered minor injuries and were conveyed to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for further treatment."

The A14 southbound spur at Alconbury remains closed, while accident investigation work is carried out.

The A14 eastbound between junction 23 and junction 24 was also closed as a result of the crash, but re-opened at around 10:20am.
