Armed Robbery In Great Shelford
Police are searching for a man who walked into a newsagents wearing a skeleton mask and threatened staff with a hammer.
It happened at McColl's newsagents in Woollards Lane, Great Shelford, at about 8.30pm on Wednesday (October 26th).
Two female members of staff and the boyfriend of one were in the shop when the man walked in brandishing a hammer and threatened them.
They were forced to go into the staff room before the robber made off with a quantity of cash and scratch cards.
The man was described as wearing a white hooded top with red writing on and a skeleton mask.
Detective Sergeant Adi Bowman, who is investigating, said:
"No one was hurt in the incident but it was a terrifying experience for those involved. I would like to speak to anyone who thinks they have information about who carried out this robbery."
"The robber may have been hanging around beforehand so I would ask anyone who was in that area on Wednesday evening to consider if they saw anything suspicious."
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Bowman at Parkside Police Station on 0345 456 456 4.
