Cambridge: Dog Walker Attacked

A dog walker in Cambridge was grabbed by the neck as hooded men tried to rob him.

The 63-year-old man was walking near garages to the rear of Wynford Way at about 8.45pm on Sunday (February 9) when the men attacked him and demanded money.

He said he did not have any but was punched in the face.

Both men then ran off with another man on a bike who was nearby.

The victim suffered minor injuries but was left shocked and shaken by what happened.

The main offender was described as black, slim, 15 to 18, wearing a blue hooded top and dark trousers.

The second was described as black, slim, 5'5", 15 to 18, wearing a black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

The man on the bike was described as black, wearing dark clothing and riding a dark "Y" frame mountain bike.

DC Cheryl Harris said: "This was a cowardly attack on a man who was out walking his dog and was left shaken by the experience.

"I would like to hear from anyone who thinks they might have information that could help our inquiry."

Anyone with information should contact DC Harris on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
