Cambridge: Elderly Woman Injured During Robbery

An elderly woman needed hospital treatment after being pushed to the floor by a bag snatcher in Cambridge.

The 81 year old was attacked as she entered her flat complex in Highsett off Hills Road at about 7.40pm on Saturday (February 1).

The offender grabbed her bag, causing her to fall to the ground. She suffered significant facial injuries and remains in Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Detective Constable Peter Church, investigating, said: "This was a particularly nasty robbery due to the age of the victim. She is extremely shaken by the incident and we are determined to catch the person responsible.

"We know that there were people in the area at the time of the incident and would urge anyone who saw what happened, or has any information, to call police
