More than 500 people have visited two environmentally friendly show-homes in Cambridgeshire since they opened.
The project was set up by Huntingdonshire District Council in November last year.
The idea is that people visit the homes, in St Ives and St Neots and pick up ideas to make their own houses more environmentally friendly, cutting their own energy bills.
The Council says since energy saving measures like better insulation, water-saving taps, low energy lighting and triple-glazed windows were installed, energy bills have been cut by half.
Carbon emissions have also been reduced by three quarters.
