Newmarket: Three Bailed After Stabbing

Three people who were arrested in connection with a stabbing in Newmarket on Saturday (20th July) have been released on bail.

Officers were contacted by the ambulance service on Saturday just after 2:05pm who were attending reports of a man in St Anthony with stab wounds to his upper body.

The man, who is in his twenties, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Yesterday, a 29-year-old woman from Newmarket was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and was taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre (PIC).

A 24-year-old man from London was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 21-year-old woman from Newmarket was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three have now been bailed.

The two women arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed to return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on the 9 September and 10 September respectively.
