Waterbeach Barracks To Close
Waterbeach barracks is to be closed down as part of spending cuts.
The Army site and former RAF airfield, next to the A10, is being closed down as part of the Government’s spending cuts.
A MoD spokesperson told Heart: "Waterbeach in Cambridgeshire which, subject to the necessary planning consents, will support the Government’s broader aim of increasing the supply of new housing.
The units currently based at these sites will, as appropriate, be accommodated at other locations."
The base is expected to be closed down by 2014.
