A47 Crash Leaves Man With Life Threatening Injuries

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries in a rush hour crash that closed the A47 near Peterborough.

The collision between a black van and a white lorry happened near Wansford, at the A47's junction with Cooks Hole Quarry, near Thornhaugh, at about 7.15am today.

The driver of the van which left the road suffered serious injuries, described as life threatening.

The 22 year old was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance.

The driver of the lorry, a 56-year-old man from Milton Keynes, suffered slight injuries.
