Abduction and Rape : New Information

Essex Police have released more details about the abduction and rape of a teenager in Clacton on Monday evening, after further speaking to the victim.

The woman was walking along Rush Green Road, at about 8.15 pm on Monday, March 1 when she was approached by a man who was on foot. She was assaulted and bundled into the boot of a nearby white car and tied up before being driven away to a boat yard or storage area. The teenager was then subjected to a serious sexual assault on board a boat. The car was later driven to Pump Hill, St Osyth at about 11.30pm where she was set free and sought help from a nearby house. The man responsible is described as white, medium build approximately 5 foot 9inches tall in his 50s, with grey, receding hair. He was wearing rectangular shaped spectacles.

Detective Superintendent John Quinton, who is leading the investigation, said, "We have already received some information from the public but would ask anyone who was in the area of Rush Green Road around 8.15pm on Monday evening or who was in Pump Hill around 11.30pm and may have seen the young woman, the man, or the car, to contact the police.

We would also like to hear from anyone who was in a boat yard or storage area and may have seen any activity between 8.15 and 11.30 pm on Monday night to contact us."

Anyone who has any information that may assist police with the investigation is asked to call the Major Investigation Team on 01206 762122, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
