A38 Tideford

At approximately 7pm on Thursday 13th December emergency services were alerted to a fuel tanker having gone on its side on the A38 at Tideford.

A large quantity of fuel spilt from the tanker resulting in the road being closed.

At this time Fire, Police and Highways Agency staff are at the scene assessing the damage to the road surface and overseeing the recovery of the vehicle. The A38 remains closed in both directions (east & west) with diversions along the A388 and A390.

No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.
All services are working hard at the scene to enable the road to be opened as soon as it is safe to do so.

The Fire Service is remaining in attendance ensuring the scene is safe. This operation is expected to continue for a considerable period and emergency serves are working hard to make the road safe.
