1,500 properties in South East Cornwall are being told to boil water by South West Water after problems with the pumps at a service reservoir in the early hours of August 20th.

All affected customers will get a notice through their letter box.

If you do not get one then you are not affected. It is fine to use the water for showering, bathing, flushing the toilet and washing clothes.

The exact area affected is shown on the WaterLive website CLICK HERE: www.southwestwater.co.uk/waterlive

Customers will be told when the water notice is lifted which might not be until Thursday.

£15 in compensation will be paid which will automatically be shown on their next water bill.

If you receive a notice, do not drink your water without boiling it and allowing it to cool first.

Boil and allow to cool any water used for preparation of food (like washing salad) or in cooking food or cleaning teeth.

A temporary event helpline that customers can use if they have any further queries or concerns has been set-up TEL: 0800 230 0561.
