Poole based sweet maker Tangerine Confectionary LTD has announced it's closing its factory in Poole.
It's planning to transfer sweet production to other Tangerine Confectionery sites in the UK.
Up to 75 staff at the Poole factory will be affected by the proposed changes, and a consultation process has started with staff representatives.
If the proposal is carried out, it is anticipated that the Poole site could cease manufacturing by the end of March 2013.
Graham Hunter, Chief Executive commented:
“The decision to move production from the Poole site has not been taken lightly.
"With increasingly tough market conditions, Tangerine Confectionery needs to ensure it runs efficiently and this has resulted in the decision to move production to our other sites.
"At this stage, our primary concern is the welfare of our 75 employees and we will be doing all we can to support them through the consultation period.”
