Appeal After Armed Raid On G4S Van In Poole

Detectives in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after offenders attacked a G4S security van in the Parkstone area of the town.

The incident took place between 10pm and 10.30pm on Monday 3 September 2012 outside the Nationwide on Ashley Road, Poole.

Two security guards were attacked by two suspects who used a bladed instrument and a heavy instrument - a quantity of cash was stolen. The security guards have been treated for minor injuries.

Detective Inspector Mark Samuel, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said:

"Incidents such as these are rare however this was a violent and well organised attack.

"It happened at a time when there were a number of people in the area who may have seen something that can help our investigation.

"In particular we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a dark or grey coloured BMW car, possibly a Series 1 model, either parked up in vicinity of the crime, driving away or acting suspiciously.

"I urge anyone with any information to contact Dorset Police on 101 in the strictest confidence."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 3:496. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
