Armed Robbery At Poole Newsagents

A female shop workers been threatened with a knife after 2 men wearing balaclavas stormed into a newsagent in Poole.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the robbery on Alder Road, Poole.

Between 7.00am and 7.15am on Sunday 2 January 2011 - two offenders entered the McColl’s newsagent, making off with money and cigarettes from the store.

The female worker was not injured during the robbery, although she was left extremely shaken by the incident.

 

Detective Constable Scott Brimicombe, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a serious incident and I would encourage any witnesses to contact me urgently.

“Both offenders are white men and they were wearing balaclavas during the robbery.

“The first offender is believed to be approximately five feet 11 inches tall, wearing dark clothes with white trainers and is of a slim build.

“The second offender is believed to be between five feet eight inches and five feet nine inches tall and was wearing a grey hooded top, black bottoms and white trainers.

“One of the offenders had a knife and threatened the female member of staff with it before they made off with money and a quantity of cigarettes from the store.”

 

The offenders entered the store through the front entrance and left through the rear access door at the back of the store.

The amount of money and the quantity of cigarettes that were stolen are not being released.

 

Detective Constable Brimicombe continued: “I believe that the offenders may have left the scene in a silver coloured car.
