A driver who dashed to the toilet while he was waiting for the Sandbanks Ferry returned to find his car had rolled into Poole Harbour.
It's reported he chased the black Vauxhall Omega down the slipway, only to see it vanish eight metres underwater on Saturday 23rd October, at about 11am.
Coastguards were called in, and they contacted the RNLI lifeboat to search for it.
The lifeboat soon found a stream of bubbles at the spot where the car had sunk to the bottom and it was recovered by a harbour dredger which took it back to Poole Quay. No-one was inside the car at the time.
A small crowd gathered to watch it all happening - many thanks to Chris Walker from Southampton for sending us this photo.
