Feeding Struggling Families In Dorset

A new community foodbank's just opened up in Bournemouth, in an area where more than a third of children are classed as living in poverty.

It'll cover the Kinson and West Howe areas.

Special blue collection bins are being put on the streets with a list of what's needed.

But there are fears about turning people away unless more come forward with food donations.

She said unexpected events such as bereavement, illness or redundancy are the main reasons behind the recent demand on their services.

Co-ordinator Sandy Williams is now urging people to offer support to the project and to get in touch on 01202 570010, or e-mail communityfb@hotmail.co.uk.
