Firework Thrown Into Chinese Takeaway

Detectives in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a man threw a firework into a Chinese takeaway in the Turlin Moor area of the town.

At around 11pm on Friday, 5 November 2010, a young man threw a lit firework into Dina Zone, along Turlin Road.

No-one was injured but a small amount of damage was caused to the shop.

DC Martin Farrington, of Poole CID, said:

“A number of staff were in the takeaway at the time of this dangerous attack and clearly these actions could have resulted in a serious injury.

“The offender was seen to walk toward the takeaway from the area of the nearby school and, after throwing the firework, he ran off into Shipstal Close.”

The offender is white and aged around 18. He was wearing blue trousers or jeans and a black hooded top at the time of the incident.

DC Farrington continued: “I understand that there were a number of people in this area at around 11pm on Fireworks Night and it may be that someone has information that will help me to identify the man responsible.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this reckless attack to contact me as soon as possible.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01202 222 222 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
