Man Breaks Leg In Tesco Car Park

A man has been left with a broken leg after getting pinned between his car and a van in a Tesco car park in Dorchester.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the serious road traffic collision at the Tesco store on Weymouth Road.

It happened at 7.29pm on Friday 7 October 2011, just off the B3147. The incident, involving a white, long wheelbase Ford Transit and a silver Honda CR-V 4x4, happened in the recycling area of the car park..

The driver of the Honda – a 47-year-old Dorchester man – was unloading at the rear of his car when he was pinned between the two vehicles.

He sustained a broken leg and was taken to Dorset County Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

The driver of the Transit van – 42-year-old Weymouth man – and his 44-year-old female passenger were unhurt.

Police Constable Steve Pullan, of Dorset Police's traffic unit, said:

 "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision or who may have seen the events leading up to it to contact me as soon as possible."
