Officers are encouraging youngsters to only trick or treat at houses they know, ideally with an adult supervising.
Man Dies Near Weymouth Car Park
A man has died near to a multi-storey car park in Weymouth.
At 6.53am on the 31st October 2011 police received a report that a man had been found seriously injured on Commercial Road in Weymouth.
Officers attended and the man, believed to be in his forties and from Weymouth, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The circumstances of the man's death are being investigated by Weymouth CID. Lower St Alban Street and Commercial Road have been closed while enquiries continue.
The coroner has been notified and next of kin are being made aware.
A Dorset Police spokesman said:
"We are appealing for anyone who saw a man on or near the multi storey car park from around 6am this morning to call police urgently on 101.
"We understand that the same man had been outside the W H Smith along St Mary Street from around 4.15am today. Anyone who has any information about the man's death or movements prior to his death should contact Dorset Police - in confidence - as soon as possible."
