Detectives in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a man forced his way into a woman’s car and attempted to kiss her – with investigators releasing an e-fit of the man responsible.

At around 6.20pm on Wednesday, 12 January 2011, a 22-year-old woman was sitting in her black Ford Focus, which was parked along Salisbury Road in the Parkstone area, when she was approached by a man.

This man knocked on her window and, after the victim opened the car door slightly to speak with him, he entered the vehicle. Once inside, the offender leant on the victim and attempted to kiss her without her consent.

The victim shouted at the man and he left the car. The victim was not injured.

Detective Constable Paul Chessell, of the Bournemouth and Poole Public Protection Unit, said:

“Following further enquiries, I am now able to release an e-fit of the man responsible.

“I would urge anyone who recognises this man to contact me as soon as possible."

The offender is white, aged in his twenties or early thirties, of a slim to medium build, with blonde wavy hair. He was wearing a green or blue polo shirt.

DC Chessell continued:

“The victim was left very upset by this offence and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to contact the police urgently.

“All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

A 21-year-old man was initially arrested in connection with this incident – he has subsequently been eliminated from police enquires and released without charge.
