A 37-year-old was followed into an alleyway between Emerson Close and Green Road on Monday morning.

The man grabbed her legs and pulled her over.

It happened at approximately 9.50am on Monday 16 June.

The victim – dressed in a blue hooded top, black trousers and a white blouse – noted an unknown man leaning against a telegraph pole looking at his mobile phone at the entrance to the alleyway.

He is described as white, in his late teens or early twenties and was wearing a grey beanie style hat, a maroon T-shirt with an emblem on the front, black skinny jeans and trainers.

The man then followed the victim after she had entered the passage.

When she had made her way about half way through, he grabbed at her lower legs causing her to fall forward.

She sustained grazes to her leg and hands.

The offender made off when a member of the public, passing nearby, called out to the victim to find out whether she was all right.

Police Constable Phil Prentice, of Poole police, said:

“The victim did not hear any verbal threats made by the offender. However, this incident left her badly shaken and upset.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any details about the man responsible. Anyone with information that may assist my investigation should contact Dorset Police.”
