Woman Attacked in Christchurch

Police in Christchurch are looking for a man who attacked a woman in the town.

He grabbed hold of her on Barrack Road, near the junction with The Grove, at around 10.35pm on Saturday 26th November 2011.

The victim, a 30-year-old Christchurch woman, was left with minor injuries to her face.

Police Constable Carl Peters, of Christchurch police, said:

“The victim was extremely shocked by this unprovoked attack and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to contact me as soon as possible.

“I understand that a member of the public was boarding a nearby bus at the time of this assault and it may be that this person has information that may help me with my investigation.

“Anyone with information is urged to call Dorset Police – in confidence – urgently.”

The offender is white, aged in his forties, with long unkempt mousy, greying hair and a beard.

He was wearing a three-quarter length camel coloured coat, which was buttoned up, very dirty blue jeans and black ankle boots. He was carrying a rucksack.
