Police investigating a stable yard fire in Hertfordshire in which four horses died have arrested a 43 year old man.
It's thought the fire started during an attempted burglary at the stables on Benington Road, Walkern near Stevenage at around 1.50am on Wednesday 3 October 2012.
The 43 year old man was arrested at an address in Walkern on the morning of Tuesday 16 October.
Chief Inspector for East Herts Gerry McDonald said: “We take these kinds of offences very seriously and are completely committed to tackling rural crime. This kind of crime has a huge impact on the local community and I hope today’s arrest will reassure local residents that we will deal robustly with these types of offences when they occur.”
