Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary which happened during the early hours of Monday morning (Monday 4 April) are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened at a property in Hightown Road, Luton at 4.10am when 3 to 4 men forced their way into the main door and ran up the stairs to a flat where they also forced entry.

The offenders then threatened the 28 year old resident before covering his face with a pillow. They searched the premises before leaving with a mobile telephone, power tools and a set of keys.

It is believed the offenders, who were all wearing balaclavas, got into a blue Vauxhall Corsa before leaving the area.

The officer in charge of this investigation, DC Dean Dhinsa, is keen to trace anyone who saw the men arriving or leaving the scene.

DC Dhinsa said: “Although the victim was not injured this was still a shock to him. The offenders must have made a lot of noise getting in to the property and I would appeal to anyone who may have heard or witnessed anything suspicious in the Hightown Road area that night to come forward and speak to the police.”

Anyone with information about this incident can contact DC Dhinsa at Luton Police Station, on 01582 394262, or text information to 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
